What to Expect from Offerings
… and other questions I’m still asking myself
If you’re wondering, “Katy, why did you start a newsletter?” I’m here to warn you that the answer is so straightforward it’s almost disappointing.
Here it is: I started a newsletter because I have news!
If you’re here for the actual news, you can head on down to the next section. If you’re curious about the what’s and why’s of this newsletter, stick with me a second.
All About Offerings
You’re probably inundated with newsletters ranging from that brand you thought you might buy that thing from that one time so you signed up for a coupon code six years ago, to the ones you would actually love to read (if only you had time). For better or worse, most newsletters languish in our inboxes.
I think that’s part of why I feel compelled to explain. Maybe a Q&A will work better so you know where to look, and I don’t get too wordy.
Q: Why are you sending me this email, Katy?
A: Thank you for asking! The short answer: I want to be able to share information I find valuable and think you will too.
If you don’t find it valuable—and I can’t stress this enough—please free yourself of the burden of another unreadable email taking up space in your inbox and hit “unsubscribe.” I don’t want to be the reason Gmail is yelling at you that “Your storage is 77% full.”
You know, unless you want me to be.
Q: How often will you send me Offerings?
I will only send Offerings when I have something to say. I’m not going to commit to an arbitrary schedule to pump out content.
This is written by me, not AI. It’s work. But it’s work I like when it’s purposeful!
Q: Why the name “Offerings”?
A: Because that’s what this is. Think of the information in this newsletter as my offerings to you, given with the hope that you’ll take what you need when you need it and leave the rest when you don’t.
Offerings might include events, helpful information, resources, book recommendations, and of course whatever passes for humor in my brain on any given day.
Q: What else?
Time will tell! My priorities are thus:
1) providing value
2) connecting with you
3) petting my dogs
4-237) various tedium
238) worrying about exactly what this will look like
Thanks for reading. If you have any feedback on how well I’m achieving priority #1, don’t hesitate to reach out.
SPACE: The Final Frontier
I’m so excited to announce that I’ve opened in-person therapy availability near West University, Rice Village, Montrose, and the Medical Center.
